TROPPO BUONO is Australia’s largest online destination for Italian food, wine and spirits — bringing more than 800 products across retail and wholesale together under one roof.
But it didn’t start that way.
We’re Alice and Gabriel. We were born and raised in the Treviso area of Veneto, in the middle of Prosecco country, before making Australia home. The things we missed were rarely the obvious ones. It was the pasta we grew up with, the biscuits in the cupboard, the bottle opened at Sunday lunch, the amaro after dinner and the small regional products that are completely ordinary in Italy but surprisingly difficult to find here.
So we started bringing them to Australia ourselves.
Two businesses, one idea
Italian Wine Connection began with wine. We built relationships with independent Italian wineries and distilleries and imported their products for restaurants, retailers, hotels and wine lovers across Australia.
Spritz & Co followed in 2019. What began around Italian aperitivo quickly grew into a much broader online store for Italian pantry staples, confectionery, coffee, gluten-free food, beverages, wine, spirits and everyday favourites.
Over time, the distinction between the two businesses stopped making much sense. Spritz & Co was importing more of its own products. Italian Wine Connection customers were asking us for food and gluten-free ranges as well as wine and spirits. The same team was sourcing in Italy, receiving containers, running the warehouse and distributing products around Australia.
So we brought everything together as TROPPO BUONO Imports.
Why TROPPO BUONO?
Troppo buono literally means “too good”. It’s also the sort of thing Italians say when they taste something and immediately want the person beside them to try it.
Assaggia questo. È troppo buono.
Try this. It’s too good.
That has always been the idea behind what we do: find something genuinely good, bring it here and share it.
More than an Italian grocery store
TROPPO BUONO brings together a range of 800+ Italian products across retail and wholesale, spanning pantry staples, pasta, sauces, biscuits, confectionery, coffee, baking ingredients, preserves, beverages, wine, Prosecco, amari, grappa, liqueurs, spirits, beer and selected home and personal-care products.
Our range also includes 125+ gluten-free products and 130+ wines, spirits and aperitivi, with selected products reserved for licensed venues, retailers and other wholesale customers.
That combination is what makes TROPPO BUONO different. We are not only an online retailer. We are also importers and distributors, working directly with producers and supplying both Australian households and trade customers.
Italian food, properly represented
Italy is not one flavour, one region or one shelf of familiar supermarket brands. The food and drinks change dramatically from north to south, town to town and sometimes family to family.
We want the range to reflect that.
That means carrying everyday favourites alongside products that require a little explanation. It means stocking familiar pasta and biscuits, but also championing lesser-known wines, indigenous grape varieties, regional specialties and specialist gluten-free brands that deserve a place in Australia.
Some products are famous. Others are hand-sells. Often, those are the ones customers become most loyal to once they try them.
Retail and wholesale, together
For retail customers, TROPPO BUONO is a way to shop a broad Italian range online and have it delivered across Australia.
For restaurants, bottle shops, supermarkets, health-food stores, hotels and specialty retailers, TROPPO BUONO Imports provides access to selected food, wine, spirits and gluten-free ranges through our wholesale business.
Some products are available to everyone; others are trade-only. Together, they form the wider TROPPO BUONO catalogue.

TROPPO BUONO is the next chapter of both Spritz & Co and Italian Wine Connection. The name is new; the people behind it are not.
We’re still searching for the products we wish were easier to find in Australia. We’re still tasting, importing, packing and recommending them ourselves. And we’re still happiest when a customer discovers something they had never heard of and comes back for it again.
